Air Swimmers eXtreme -

It seems as though every year that passes us by the toys that our children are introduced to get a little bit more complex, a little more unique, and really cool as far as technology is concerned.  The Air Swimmers Extreme remote controlled inflatable shark and fish certainly hold more than true to this trend.  The one that I have personally seen in action is the Air Swimmers Shark, and let me tell you it was a HUGE hit this past holiday season.

Air Swimmers eXtreme – Shark

Imagine walking into your living room and seeing a flying shark coming across the room.  Not only is it possible now, but with the immense popularity that these toys are gaining, it’s also highly probable.  Virtually everyone who sees this thing has to do a double check to make sure they aren’t imagining things.  The greatest part about this toy though is not only is it entertaining for adults, but kids love them and who can blame them?  Now that you understand exactly what the Air Swimmers eXtreme are let’s talk about whether or not they can hold up to the hype that they’re receiving.

First, we have the idea of an indoor flying toy.  I will issue a warning here for you.  Make certain that you don’t fly this outside as it’s filled with helium and can blow away.  This toy is for indoor use only, and shouldn’t be used outdoors.  With that said, it does it’s job very well as a soft indoor remote controlled air toy.  It uses it’s tail to swish through the air just as a fish would swim through the water.   Amazingly, the controls work really well, and allow quite a few neat directional changes to take place with the shark.  Not only that, but you will also be more than impressed with the way this thing can turn, take corners, raise and lower, and swoop through the air quickly.  The first few times you see it go, you will really be impressed.

Such a neat toy does, unfortunately, have a couple of bad points that must be made about it as well.  First, the remotes range only goes about 40 feet so you will often find yourself chasing after it.  The only other real complaint that was noticed is the fact that you have to put helium back in it roughly once every two weeks.  This really isn’t a big deal just make sure to include a cheap helium tank with your Air Swimmer if you give it as a gift.  While the packaging says you can use regular air instead of helium, it’s strongly recommended not to do so.  By using air instead, you lose the buoyancy that helium gives, and your swimmer quickly becomes a sinker.

All in all, you have to admit that this is still a really neat toy.  It’s sure to make the top gift list this holiday season, and it certainly will be the talk of more than a few Christmas parties this year.  If you want something fun and different then you definitely have to check into an Air Swimmers eXtreme as a gift this year.  The best part about it is that it can be a fun toy for a child, or the perfect gift for the young at heart.
